  2. It also might help to have an idea of what you want your site to look like. Try out a few of our Site Templates to get a few ideas of what your business web site can look like.

To make the most of the Internet an the services we can provide you, we do recommend that you have the following.

  1. A computer with a modem, so that you can interact with your clients through the Internet.

  2. An Internet Service Provider, or ISP for short.  The purpose of an ISP is to connect your PC to the Internet, so you can "surf the web", or collect and send your emails.  There are many companies that provide a connection to the internet - such as Virgin Net, BTInternet, AOL, ic24 and FreeServe.  It is down to personal choice as to which ISP you choose.

  3. An Internet browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator.  Internet Explorer comes as standard on Windows machines, but a lot of people prefer to use Netscape Navigator.  The simple answer as to which one you should use is down to personal preference.

  4. An email program such as Microsoft Outlook Express.  This enables you to download and store all your emails on your PC, and send those all important mails to your clients and friends. Outlook Express comes as standard with Windows.

The things we provide for you.

  1. You will need to decide what you want your site to be called.  Internet addresses usually start with http://www. the company name, then a code to categorise the site, like .co.uk (which means a company based in the United Kingdom), or .com (which means a global company).  Have a look at the Who Is? link to find a domain name which your customers can easily remember.

  2. You will need some content on your site.  We will work with you to design the site you require.  It will help if you look at your competitors sites, to get an idea of what you want, and don't want on your site.  We'll even develop the pages, and let you have the code! This means that if you feel confident enough, you can change your site yourself! We even provide support and training at a very reasonable price.

  3. You shall need somewhere to store your site on the Internet. We choose a British company that has had years of experience in the Internet, so your guarantee of good service is second to none.

  4. You shall need to register your new site with as many search engines as possible, ensuring that it is inserted into the correct category. We have tips for getting your site to the top of the search results.
